The Vice President role, based in Mumbai, will provide strategic leadership and delivery of Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), consultant database maintenance, ESG query Management, and RFP support.

This role is accountable for delivering high-quality, consistent and compliant content across all client and consultant interactions, ensuring alignment with firm-wide messaging, regulatory expectations and evolving market standards.

The VP will act as a critical interface between investment teams, specialists, risk, compliance, and global distribution, while driving operational excellence, scalability and innovation through content governance, process optimisation, and the use of technology and AI-enabled solutions.

DDQ Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness across all client and consultant submissions.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for DDQ engagement globally, managing prioritisation, escalation and delivery against agreed service levels.
• Maintain alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies and evolving industry standards.

Consultant Database maintenance ownership

• Own the population, maintenance, and optimisation of consultant databases (e.g, eVestment and others), ensuring data integrity, completeness and audit readiness, working closely with Database lead to enhance M&G’s presence globally.
• Establish robust governance frameworks for ongoing updates, validation and version control.
• Drive continuous improvement in content quality and accessibility, enhancing M&G’s positioning with global consultants.
• Support reporting on Databases and peers

ESG Query Oversight

• Oversee the management of ESG Queries team members based in Mumbai, supporting coordinating responses across ESG, stewardship, investment and risk teams when needed and providing line management responsibilities.
• Ensure consistency, credibility and depth of ESG content, reflecting firm strategy and regulatory expectations.
• Monitor emerging ESG trends and integrate evolving requirements into standardised responses.

RFP Support & Collaboration

• Provide subject matter expertise and content support for new business RFPs, partnering closely with RFP writers and distribution teams.
• Ensure alignment between DDQ, consultant and RFP messaging to deliver a cohesive and compelling client narrative.

Process Optimisation & Innovation

• Drive continuous improvement across RFP, DDQ and database processes through automation, AI-enabled tools and enhanced content management systems.
• Develop scalable operating models to support increased volume and complexity of client and consultant requests.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and management information to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Leadership & Team Oversight (Mumbai Hub)

• Lead and develop a high-performing Mumbai-based team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and collaboration.
• Ensure adherence to global standards, service expectations and best practices.
• Provide coaching, mentorship and clear performance management to build future leadership capability.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with investment teams, ESG specialists, compliance, risk, and global distribution stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging and priorities.
• Work closely with counterparts within the UK RFP, Database and ESG teams to build structured models to deliver high quality outputs with clear accountability and expectations within teams
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex or high-profile client and consultant requests.
• Build strong relationships across regions to ensure seamless global delivery.

Competence / Knowledge / Skills Required

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Educated to degree level, with a postgraduate or professional qualification preferred.
• Significant experience (typically 12–15+ years) within asset management, with deep exposure to DDQs, consultant databases, RFP processes and client servicing.
• Proven leadership experience managing global or regionally distributed teams, ideally within a hub model (e.g. Mumbai).
• Strong understanding of institutional clients, consultant expectations and industry due diligence standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in ESG topics and their integration into client reporting and due diligence processes.
• Experience implementing content governance frameworks and leveraging technology to scale operations and enhance efficiency.
• Strong project management and process optimisation skills, with a track record of delivering measurable improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels across the organisation.
• High attention to detail combined with the ability to operate strategically and drive transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with key industry platforms and tools (e.g. consultant databases, content management systems, AI-driven solutions).
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments impacting asset management and client disclosures.
