Summary

Join a collaborative and highly visible finance team where you'll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting operations. In this position, you'll leverage data to uncover spending trends, provide meaningful business insights, and help guide financial decision‑making across the organization.

This role offers the opportunity to partner with senior leaders, gain exposure to multiple business areas, and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and support organizational growth. You'll also develop expertise in financial reporting and cross‑functional financial analysis while contributing to impactful projects and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing historical trends, key cost drivers, and business initiatives.

Analyze actual financial results against forecasts and budgets, identifying key variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, providing actionable insights to business leaders and stakeholders.

Perform a variety of accounting and financial reporting activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, invoicing, and general ledger maintenance.

Partner with Business Controllers and department leaders to understand spending patterns, optimize cost allocations, and identify potential cost‑saving opportunities.

Champion continuous improvement by evaluating existing processes, recommending enhancements, and supporting automation initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Collaborate directly with senior management across multiple departments, providing financial analysis and guidance to support business objectives.

Serve as a key resource for internal and external auditors, insurance department examiners, and other stakeholders by providing accurate financial information and reporting.

Develop and maintain process documentation to support training, knowledge sharing, and business continuity.

Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives that contribute to the organization's ongoing success.

Qualifications

2 - 4 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 4 - 6 years.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree, with a degree in accounting or finance preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years analytical experience and a solid understanding of basic accounting terms.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and within a group. Intermediate knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel and Word required. SAP experience a plus

Pay Transparency

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Salary Range

$58,000 - $ 81,000
