About the Job
- As part of the Investment Banking Solutions team and reporting directly to the Global Sectors & Advisory (GSA) Business Management team, the candidate will support the monitoring and strategic development of BNP Paribas' Global Sectors & Advisory franchise
- Acting as a strategic and operational partner to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) bankers, Advisory and Global Sector Heads, the candidate will support M&A activities across their entire lifecycle while contributing to the operational steering, monitoring, control and transformation of the Advisory franchise. The role combines strong Business Management expertise with a particular focus on League Tables management, data management, reporting, process optimisation and AI-enabled transformation initiatives
- League Tables management is a strategic pillar of the role, playing a critical role in ensuring BNP Paribas receives appropriate recognition for its M&A activities and maintains a competitive market positioning
Your Main Activities Are
- Act as a trusted Business Management partner to Global Sector Heads, Advisory management and M&A bankers across assigned sectors and geographies
- Support bankers throughout the M&A transaction lifecycle, ensuring adherence to internal processes, governance frameworks and operational requirements
- Act as a key point of contact for Business Management matters and contribute to the effective steering of Advisory activities
- Ensure transactions are properly declared, accurately reflected and submitted within required timeframes. And monitor transaction credits, roles and fee allocations to ensure BNP Paribas receives appropriate recognition compared to the competitors and challenge the providers’ data if necessary
- Conduct detailed analyses and investigations to monitor League Table credits (eg, data evolution or competitors’ credits)
- Perform fee reconciliations, supporting analyses and documentation required for interactions with external market data providers
- Act as a reference point for League Table rules, methodologies and submission requirements, advising bankers and management on best practices and credit optimisation opportunities
- Coordinate with GSA teams and worldwide stakeholders to ensure consistency, quality and improvement of M&A transaction declaration and recognition across all regions
- Design, maintain and improve reporting frameworks, databases and data management processes
- Identify opportunities to improve and/or automate recurring processes and increase operational efficiency
- Support the deployment and adoption of strategic tools, digital solutions and AI-enabled initiatives across the GSA platform
- Act as partner with Sector Heads, Advisory heads and bankers to provide business management expertise, strategic support and operational guidance
- Produce management reporting, dashboards, presentations and analyses supporting business reviews and strategic decision-making
- Ensure transactional compliance with internal procedures, data quality standards and governance requirements throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Monitor M&A pipelines, transaction status and key business performance indicators, while contributing to key governance processes (e.g., organising/participating to mandate committees and contributing to Advisory/Global Sectors Steering Committees)
Profile and Skills to Success
- Significant experience in Business Management, Investment Banking-related or, M&A-related environment
- Experience interacting with senior stakeholders and managing cross-functional initiatives
- Experience with League Tables platforms and market data providers would be considered a significant advantage
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and strong data management (management of large datasets), reporting and data quality control expertise
- Good understanding of automation, digital tools and process improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated interest and practical experience in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and data-driven solutions
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Rigorous and detail-oriented
- Ability to synthesise large volumes of information into concise and impactful messages
- Proactive, autonomous and solution-oriented
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment, manage multiple priorities, anticipate business needs, adapt to changing circumstances and deliver high-quality output
