ING Bank N.V. is looking for an economist, you support all ING departments and clients with analyses and forecasts of the financial and economic environment. You will contribute as an expert to the image of the bank in contacts with clients and the press. You will be part of a team of two Milan-based economists, supporting mainly the bank and its clients in Italy. At the same time, you will be part of the Global Research team and work with international colleagues to define global economic visions.
Activities
- Producing forecasts and scenario analysis for key macro-economic and financial variables
- Writing both short notes and in-depth reports on these topics
- Communicating key views and forecasts to colleagues and clients giving presentations
- Interviews with the press
Responsibilities
- Bring fresh ideas to life and embrace challenges in a fast changing and complex environment
- Perform assigned activities and deliver results within tight deadlines and demanding timelines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, fostering a cooperative and team-oriented environment.
- Apply a creative and proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing innovative ideas and solutions to support business objectives.
Required skills
- Experience of at least At least 2 years of experience in economic research, with applied economic research as a plus
- Ability to manage critical situations through good decision-making skills
- University degree in (advanced) economics (Laurea Magistrale, Master, PhD)
- Perfect Italian speaker and writer, with excellent oral/written skills in English
- Computer skills, with a good knowledge of MS Office, AI, data analysis, working with charts and PowerPoint presentations.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong analytical skills
- Team player, but able to work autonomously
- Dynamic, with a sense of initiative
Contract offer
- Working conditions : Permanent employment contract
- Working hours: Full time (37 hours per week)
- Applicable Collective Labour Agreement: National Collective Labour Agreement for employees in the credit sector (NCLA)
- Location : Milan (hybrid)
- Annual base salary starting from: 65 .000€
- Variable remuneration : in line with the applicable remuneration policies (with a target based on the role, outcomes linked to the Group, Business line/function, and individual performance)
