This position will be a hybrid work arrangement.

You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

HarbourVest Partners (HVP) is seeking an Assistant Director with approximately 7-10 years of accounting experience.

The Assistant Director, Fund Oversight will work closely with an experienced group of professionals to support the end-to-end oversight of a diverse group of private equity funds.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

High quality administrative and organizational skills; strong attention to detail

Ability to perform independently and as part of a team

Ability to manage several priorities in a fast paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Effective at building positive relationships across an organization.

Possesses strong technical expertise in private equity and investment company accounting.

What you will do:

Support oversight of assigned funds throughout the quarterly reporting lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in compliance with governing documents.

Review and/or prepare:

Quarterly NAV calculations

All supporting accounting documentation and reconciliations

Investment valuations

Quarterly and annual reporting, including capital account statements and audited financial statements under US GAAP and/or IFRS

Ad hoc reporting and client information requests

Find opportunities to enhance efficiency, controls, scalability, and data quality.

Perform other responsibilities as needed.

What you bring:

High level of attention to detail with the understanding of the big picture.

Excellent at problem solving and possess analytical skills with a strong attention to detail

Ability to work towards and meet pre-established deadlines and/or turnaround times

Strong work ethic and collaborative approach

Ability to perform processes across a broad and diverse set of funds, applying knowledge learned in one fund to similar funds within the complex

Strong technical accounting knowledge

Education Preferred:

BS/BA (or European equivalent) – Business - Finance, Economics or Accounting

Experience:

7-10 Years relevant experience
