About Business line/Function

About Business line/Function:  Asset Management Reporting is responsible for transforming validated investment, accounting, pricing, and reference data into accurate, timely, and compliant reports for clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders. The function supports multiple reporting types across asset classes, geographies, and regulatory regimes.

Position Purpose

Position Purpose:  The Validator role acts as the independent quality, control, and risk assurance layer within the Asset Management Reporting lifecycle. The role ensures that all reports produced are technically accurate, conceptually sound, methodologically consistent, and compliant with internal standards, client requirements, and regulatory expectations before final release.

The Validator is accountable for challenging outputs, validating assumptions, and preventing incorrect or misleading information from reaching clients or regulators.

Specific Qualifications

Post Graduate degree in Finance or a related discipline.

Strong understanding of performance measurement and attribution methodologies, including arithmetic and geometric attribution approaches.

Knowledge of key attribution models such as Brinson-Fachler / Brinson-Hood-Beebower, including allocation, selection, and interaction effects.

Familiarity with portfolio return calculations, benchmark comparison, and relative performance analysis across asset classes.

Ability to interpret and validate attribution results by linking performance drivers to investment decisions, market movements, and portfolio positioning.

Experience working with holdings, transactions, benchmark data, pricing, and FX data used in performance calculations.

Understanding of multi-asset and multi-currency portfolios, including impact of currency and derivative exposures on performance.

Ability to perform reconciliation and variance analysis between performance systems and reporting outputs.

Familiarity with performance attribution tools/platforms and reporting systems used in Asset Management.

Awareness of data dependencies, assumptions, and limitations within attribution models and reporting outputs.

Prior experience in Performance Attribution, Performance Measurement, or Investment Reporting roles is preferred.
