About Business line/Function:  Asset Management – Reconciliation

Position Purpose:

BNP Paribas Asset Management is part of BNP Paribas Group and is responsible for the process of managing and monitoring assets, on behalf of individual and corporate clients.  BNPP AM offers funds and mandates towards its clients.  These funds & mandates are managed by Portfolio Managers, who are based in different locations across the globe.

Investment Operations is responsible for handling and monitoring all services, in order that the Portfolio Managers can manage daily their portfolios.

The role of Reconciliations within operations, is essential to ensure that all information in our position keeping tools is accurate and in line with service providers and client expectations. As a Reconciliation administrator, you will be responsible for providing to client’s precise data by identifying any potential discrepancies in cash and positions and investigating accordingly.

The team being responsible for the general quality of the position keeping, additional controls are performed in the team to make sure valued positions are correct. By performing controls such as Profit-and-Loss control, we make sure users like portfolio managers work with correct data.

In this framework, the reconciliation team is also in charge of validating the data available in our Position Keeping tool: Monitoring and validating portfolio valuations of institutional clients (mandates) on reporting dates. You will need to publish the valuations to downstream applications; control the valuation plausibility of the mandates with a reference benchmark; investigate and analyse errors shown in the control reports etc.
