Head of CIB 2S Switzerland

This position will be based in Zurich and requires a Swiss residency.

MISSION

Lead the Securities Services business line in Switzerland 

Generate sustainable and profitable growth for Securities Services in the country in a controlled risk environment and in alignment with the global and regional strategy 

Develop business from clients across Securities Services products and locations maximizing the integrated bank model

Develop a strong domestic market position 

Ensure administration of the Securities Services location in Switzerland from a service, cost, risk and staff perspective

Ensure adhesion to BNP Paribas Compliance, Financial Security/KYC, Risks and Conduct policies and to regulatory obligations

YOUR WORK DAY

Manage and provide leadership to 2S' presence in the country 

Lead local management committee coordinating all activities

Provide governance on risk management, operations, human resources and administration in the country

Manage local staff and promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork, along with agility and efficience

Responsible for the local 2S P&L

Act as the senior Securities Services representative vis-a-vis the territory management, CIB Pole and BNP Paribas counterparts

Manage controllable expenses and drive focus on expense efficiency targets

Drive the definition of the 2S local strategic plan

Develop a local strategic plan aligned with Securities Services global plan and drive its execution 

Identify and prioritise opportunities in the country, including potential acquisition opportunities leveraging on solid understanding of market, regulatory, client dynamics and Securities Services positioning 

Influence global Securities Services strategy and go-to-market strategies and develop a local development plan taking into account specific local dynamics

Monitor market and regulatory changes and their related impact on product development / clients sectors attractiveness, and ensure alignment with Heads of Client Lines

Maximize profitable contribution of the country to 2S' global profitability

Maximize P&L for domestic clients, in coordination with relevant Heads of Segment

Maximize Country's contribution to global P&L for non-domestic clients 

Minimize local cost base 

Drive Business Development and service delivery

Animate local commercial activity and act as 2S' "senior coverage officer" in the Country and ensure disciplined and systematic coverage

Drive the commercial and client services activities in the Country

Develop the integrated Bank proposition along with other CIB and BNP Paribas Group business lines and ensure an active collaboration with FIC 

Ensure client satisfaction and top quality service delivery. Act as senior escalation point in case of significant service delivery issues  

Identify and carry out synergies' potential across the country and promote a culture of global/regional focus: 

Ensure sharing of best practices and identify synergies 

Coordinate with the Head of Region and Heads of Business Lines to maximize consistency across operating models

Risk Management and Compliance

Ensure local adherence to defined governance structure to ensure all local regulatory requirements are met and audits are satisfactory

Ensure full adherence to BNP Paribas Compliance, Financial Security, Conduct & Risks policies

Monitor and mitigate risk across the activity, ensure compliance with local legal, regulatory and tax requirements and local and central policies

Perform local lobbying and represent Securities Services vis-a-vis authorities

Primary interface with the regulators for Securities Services in the country

Human Resources Management

Ensure a good level of staff engagement through active leadership (communication, sponsorship of people processes such as performance management, talent management, succession planning, etc.) 

Ensure efficient management of resources allocation in the country and rigorous cost management to meet budget commitment without impending growth

Ensure local implementation of business lines' efficiency improvement plans and operating models

Promote corporate culture around teamwork and a common ambition for Securities Services;foster sharing of best practice and market knowledge, in particular with corporate teams

YOUR PROFILE & YOUR SKILLS

Competencies

Strong industry and product knowledge in securities services industry

Experience in and proven track record of client relationship building, retention and revenue expansion

Proven people and stakeholder management experience

Able to build strong internal network and establish credibility as a leader

Ability to work on multiple assignments and complete high-quality work against strict and competing deadlines as dictated by internal teams and clients

Proven ability to manage and resolve stressful and pressurized situations

Excellent client facing skills

Strong presentation skills, both written and oral with strong ttention to detail

Strong ethical and professional conduct

Fluency in English and German

Specific Qualifications Required

Degree level qualification

Industry experience in securities services, preferably a minimum of 20 years, across a range of business roles

Significant experience of different client types across Switzerland or similar jurisdiction

Demonstrated record of working in partnership with senior internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrated record of managing teams and working on people development
