Junior Software Engineer in Test (Angular/Playwright)
ABOUT THE JOB
Join our high-impact team within BNP Paribas’s Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) division, where we develop and scale a cutting-edge software platform powering the entire corporate credit chain - from origination to monitoring. Used by thousands of employees across 50+ countries since 2019, our platform is a critical backbone for global credit operations.
This role blends hands-on test automation with occasional front-end development work, requiring both technical depth and strong teamwork skills. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of our global platform by turning manual test scenarios into robust, automated E2E scripts, while collaborating closely with our development teams to enhance UI testability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Automating test scenarios by transforming manual test cases into reliable, maintainable, and scalable E2E scripts.
- Collaborating with the Front-End team to adjust UI elements (e.g., adding data attributes, hooks, or test IDs) to enable seamless automation.
- Developing a deep functional understanding of the banking application to ensure automated tests accurately reflect complex business requirements.
- Ensuring high-quality deliverables through regular communication with developers, QA engineers, and test analysts to provide status updates and identify blockers.
- Contributing to collective technical expertise by sharing insights that improve overall test coverage and platform stability.
PROFILE & SKILLS
- Core Technical Skills (Essential):
- Angular (minimum 1 year of experience).
- Strong understanding of Front-end technologies: TypeScript, HTML, and the JavaScript event loop.
- Good understanding of the HTTP network protocol.
- Familiarity with Playwright or Cucumber (BDD/Gherkin syntax).
- Proficiency in source-code collaboration tools, particularly Git.
- Collaborative, team-player attitude.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
