Credit Analyst I or Credit Analyst II
Zurich is currently looking for a Credit Analyst I or Credit Analyst II to join our Credit Risk Management team. Desired location is our Schaumburg headquarters, however proximity to a Zurich Field Office within the U.S. is also acceptable for a hybrid role.
Level Determination
This role will be filled at either the Credit Analyst I or Credit Analyst II level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, interpret and forecast the financial condition of prospective and renewal customers while determining a financial rating and generating a detailed financial narrative. Understanding of US GAAP financial statements, supporting notes, management reports, forecasts, and various other information from external sources as well as information supplied by the customer will all be required in this role. In addition, the ability to understand industry analysis, macroeconomic influences and external credit rating agency opinions is also necessary.
- Evaluate loss sensitive exposures, set collateral requirements, participate in market-facing quotation process, assist in setting program structure and negotiation of collateral.
- Provide knowledge of credit services to underwriters, brokers and customers (including Regulatory reasoning and acceptable forms of collateral, strategy on how collateral is used to protect and compliment loss sensitive programs and how bankruptcy/legal implications impact the credit risk of customers).
- Additional project work as needed (prior examples include best practice assignments, support for financial rating tools, collateral model and process automation).
- Processing of collateral documents and maintaining the integrity of our collateral database system.
Basic Qualification Credit Analyst I position
Bachelors Degree and no prior experience in the Accounting or Finance area
OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and no prior experience in the Accounting or Finance area AND Knowledge of accounting or finance principles
Preferred Qualification:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office experience
Basic Qualifications for Credit Analyst II position
Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
OR
Completion of Zurich Finance Development Program, including a Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
Preferred Qualifications
Insurance industry experience
MBA, CPA, CPCU, CFA or CTP
Strong Microsoft Office experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The combined salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $118,700.00. The proposed salary range for the Credit Analyst I is $60,000.00 - $98,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Credit Analyst II is $72,500.00 - $118,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
