Cloud Engineer
In the Cloud Engineer position you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our CI/CD pipelines. You will understand software development methodologies and be able to work with development, platform, security, and infrastructure teams to refine the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) delivery process. The successful candidate will possess very strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently to research and resolve issues.
Essential Functions
- Engineer, automate and orchestrate system provisioning and maintenance processes using modern cloud tools and technologies.
- Evaluate, design, and implement supporting technologies in alignment with global and local requirements.
- Author requirements and design document for public cloud services and patterns to be deployed within the environment. Engage with architects, engineers, developers, and security officers to develop solutions.
- Manage repositories for IaC services, resources, and patterns. Develop SDLC standards for IaC and ensure they are communicated and adhered to. Mentor cloud engineers on key systems related to SDLC.
- Solve complex architecture challenges, apply architectural standards, and start using them on new projects.
- Design and build public cloud solutions using automation, orchestration, and deployment tools including Terraform, PowerShell, Ansible, Bash.
- Lead by example, contributing to code reviews, documentation and take on complex bug fixes, especially on high-risk problems.
- Perform system administration tasks including deployments, configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support while innovating to automate as much as possible.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support applications, services, and servers in public cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by monitoring systems and submitted through the ticketing system. Fully document issues, actions taken, and steps for resolution.
- Engineer and maintain operational processes and procedures.
- Focus on continued professional development to maintain knowledge and application of current industry best practices and security concepts.
- Exhibit an innovative mindset by suggesting improvements as well as engineering and implementing related recommendations. Strong desire to learn, implement, and teach others in new processes and technologies.
- Perform other tasks as defined, planned, and approved by leadership.
Experience Required
- Advanced English level, with a focus on conversational skills
- Good understanding of DevOps process, standards, best practices followed in enterprise level with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps
- Demonstrated experience with software engineering, scripting, automation, and orchestration tools (Terraform, PowerShell, Ansible, GitHub)
- Demonstrated experience provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud computing services such as Azure and AWS.
- Demonstrated experience administering, monitoring, and maintaining both Microsoft and Linux server-based operating systems.
- Operational understanding of security best practices and standards around cloud computing and access management.
- Experience with management/maintenance of AWS Sagemaker
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field with relevant work experience of 5+ years experience in the IT field, or equivalent experience in the IT field.
