Our Design Team is organized around products – and you will be too. Instead of time-boxed projects, we are responsible for the experience design of a landscape of products at various stages of their lifecycle.
Our product portfolio consists of more than 150 web and mobile applications supporting reinsurance business functions such as Sales, Underwriting, and Claims Management.

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer with a proven track record of designing high-quality digital experiences. Given the complexity of our industry, we value creative problem solvers who enjoy tackling sophisticated business, asking questions, addressing technical, and analytical challenges and translating them into meaningful user experiences.
About the role
As a UX/UI Designer, you will help shape intuitive, scalable, and impactful digital experiences across a portfolio of products. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Experts, Engineers, and fellow Designers to understand user needs, define solutions, and deliver experiences that balance user value, business objectives, and technical feasibility.
You will be expected to contribute both as a hands‑on designer and as a strategic partner, helping teams make informed decisions about product direction, experience quality, and long‑term usability.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the end‑to‑end design process from discovery through delivery for one or more digital products
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Experts, Engineers, and other Designers to create solutions that are desirable, feasible, and viable
- Conduct and apply user research, usability testing, journey mapping, and other user‑centred design practices to inform product decisions
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs using Figma and our design system
- Apply established UX patterns, interaction design principles, and accessibility standards to create intuitive and consistent user experiences
- Contribute to product strategy by identifying user needs, opportunities, and experience improvements across the broader product ecosystem
- Bring a systems‑thinking and service‑design perspective to understand end‑to‑end workflows and identify opportunities beyond individual screens or features
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design quality and successful implementation
- Use data, analytics, and user feedback to continuously evaluate and improve product experiences
- Contribute to the evolution, governance, and documentation of design systems, UX patterns, accessibility standards, reusable design assets, and design guidance that enable consistency and scalability across products and teams
- Explore and apply emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted design and development workflows, where they create meaningful value for users and teams
- Help shape experiences that incorporate intelligent systems, ensuring they remain understandable, trustworthy, and human‑centred
About you
- 3+ years of experience in UX/UI, Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field (experience in complex B2B environments is a plus)
- Strong proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows
- Demonstrated ability to apply UX patterns, interaction design principles, information architecture, and visual design best practices
- Experience working with design systems and component‑based design approaches; contributing to a design system is a plus
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles (WCAG knowledge is a plus)
- Comfortable applying user‑centred design methods, including research, usability testing, journey mapping, and iterative design
- Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and storytelling skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and clearly document design decisions, patterns, standards, and processes for diverse audiences
- Systems thinker who can balance detailed design execution with broader product, service, and business goals
- Curious about emerging technologies, particularly AI and automation, and eager to explore how they can enhance both design practice and user experiences
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, learning continuously, and helping teams move from complexity to clarity
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to or maintaining design systems, accessibility standards, UX pattern libraries, or other shared design resources
- Experience working in agile product teams
- Experience designing complex enterprise or data‑rich applications
- Familiarity with analytics tools and data‑informed design practices
Base Salary and Benefits
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,100 and EUR 3,400 per month (for a full‑time role). The specific salary offered considers: the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance‑based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits. Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
