The Role
The Compliance Officer for Singapore reports to the Regional Head of Compliance APAC at Allianz Trade and is responsible for ensuring compliance with group requirements and applicable laws and regulations in Singapore. The role has a matrix reporting line to the local CEO Singapore.
The role holder has direct responsibility for the local compliance function in Singapore, covering also Oceania, ensuring that compliance frameworks, policies and controls are effectively implemented and maintained, and supporting the business by providing practical compliance guidance, contributing to a consistent and robust compliance approach in both jurisdictions.
Job Responsibilities
Compliance Tasks
- Promote a strong compliance culture, supporting awareness of regulatory and internal compliance requirements
- Provide guidance and support to business stakeholders to ensure consistent application of compliance standards
- Proactive coordination of compliance activities, ensuring alignment with Allianz Trade Regional Compliance
- Ensure implementation and monitoring of group requirements in the OE
- Ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations
- Perform the local compliance function for Singapore and Oceania, including governance, reporting and oversight activities
- Support regional compliance activities, including reporting, issue tracking, risk assessment input and follow-up on remediation actions
- Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks and support appropriate mitigation actions
- Ensure timely escalation of relevant compliance issues in line with established governance
- Contribute to compliance reviews, risk assessments, training and monitoring activities as required
Relationship Management
- Ensure regular interaction with Allianz Trade Regional Head of Compliance APAC and regional colleagues
- Act as a key point of contact for compliance matters within the OE
- Build effective working relationships with local management, business teams and relevant functions
- Support the business by providing clear, practical and risk-based compliance advice on day-to-day activities, projects and initiatives
Transformation, Projects and Systems
- Participate in projects and initiatives to ensure compliance requirements are appropriately considered and implemented
- Support the implementation of compliance-related processes, tools and improvements at local level
Job Requirements
Required
Minimum 5 years of compliance experience. A more senior appointment will be considered with the relevant experience and qualifications
Relevant experience in a compliance-related role within financial services or another regulated environment
Good understanding of compliance frameworks, governance and regulatory requirements
Experience working in an international and matrix environment
University degree in law, business administration, economics or another relevant discipline
Fluency in English (oral and written)
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks
Structured and methodical approach with attention to detail
High level of integrity and professional judgement
Preferred
Experience in a regional or multi-country compliance role
Experience in insurance or a regulated financial services sector
