Role: Principal Data Engineer
Role Summary
State Street Investment Management is seeking a Principal Data Engineer with expertise in Data Architecture, Databricks, AWS, Python, and Spark to lead the design and delivery of scalable cloud data platforms. This role combines hands‑on engineering with architectural leadership, driving enterprise data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and investment management functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern cloud data architecture and engineering standards.
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Spark, and Databricks.
- Lead data modeling, data warehousing, and Lakehouse architecture initiatives.
- Ensure data quality, performance, security, and platform reliability.
- Drive cloud modernization, automation, and CI/CD best practices.
- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across projects.
Required Experience
- 8–11 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or related roles.
- Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong expertise in AWS, Databricks, Python, Spark, SQL, and data modeling.
- Experience leading solution design, architecture discussions, and technical delivery.
- Financial Services or Asset Management experience preferred.
