Within GIS, the Macroeconomic Analysis team provides forecasts for the key macro variables and sets the macro view, including on central banks and structural trends that shape the firm’s investment strategy.
What you'll be doing
The resource will lead analysis of the US economy and will contribute to shaping the global macro view to support asset allocation decisions within GIS. The role primarily involves analysing and forecasting key US macroeconomic indicators and the Fed’s monetary policy. In addition to cyclical analysis, the role requires developing views on the key structural trends shaping the global economy and assessing their implications for financial markets. The resource will produce high-quality research and provide regular updates for internal and external clients through a wide range of publications of the Investment Institute by UniCredit, combining rigorous data analysis with effective communication. Target clients are primarily in private banking and wealth management. The resource will also be involved in supporting our corporate and institutional clients business, providing inputs to the bank’s planning function and developing risk scenarios for ICAAP purposes.
What you'll need to succeed
We are searching for senior professionals with ideally at least 10 years of experience in the coverage of the US economy in the financial sector, institutions and think tanks. Proven experience in macroeconomic research, a strong understanding of financial markets, and the ability to connect economic developments with investment strategy. Excellent teamwork attitude, proficient in financial market data provider tools (e.g. Refinitiv/Bloomberg) and advanced usage of MS Excel, econometric software and common AI tools. Italian language proficiency at a native or near-native level, fluent in English, strong interpersonal and communication skills. The job vacancy is in Milan. Work from home is allowed in accordance with the company’s policies.
