We’re looking for a Director, Global Markets ETD Middle Office Lead to drive operational excellence across Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD). This is a high-impact leadership role with end-to-end oversight of trade lifecycle processes, risk and control frameworks, and strategic transformation initiatives.
You will partner with Trading, Sales, Risk, Technology, and Operations to ensure ETD activity is accurately processed, well-controlled, and aligned with regulatory standards. Alongside managing day‑to‑day operations, you will shape the future operating model through automation, simplification, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the ETD Middle Office function, ensuring high performance, strong governance, and a culture of accountability and inclusion
Oversee trade lifecycle activities including trade capture, validation, lifecycle events, and exception management
Drive process optimisation, automation, and strategic transformation across ETD operations
Act as a trusted partner to Front Office, Risk, Technology, and Operations stakeholders
Ensure robust risk management through controls, reconciliations, and timely escalation of issues
Monitor operational performance, including volumes, breaks, and service quality, and take action to improve outcomes
Support new product and market initiatives by assessing operational readiness and impact
Maintain strong governance, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
Lead on incident management, root cause analysis, and sustainable remediation of issues
Skills and Qualifications
Strong experience in Global Markets Operations, Middle Office, or related financial markets environments
Deep understanding of ETD products (e.g. futures, listed options) and trade lifecycle processes
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, coach, and develop diverse teams
Expertise in operational risk management and control frameworksStrong stakeholder management and business partnering skills across senior audiences
Experience driving change, automation, and process improvement initiativesExcellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
