The Mission
In your role you will support the Global Data Products strategy in achieving well-governed solutions that ensure data availability, common understanding of business terms, impeccable data quality, and traceable and controlled data. In this role, you will be instrumental in bridging business needs and data delivery by translating requirements into clear data logic, specifications, metadata, and validation criteria. Your work will ensure that data is accessible, well understood, traceable, controlled, and regulatory compliant, ultimately enabling trusted analytics insights that support business decisions and contribute to strategic direction.
Your day to day
As a technical data management analyst, you will:
- translate the business requirements in collaboration with the international stakeholders focusing on:
- creating re-usable solutions for retail countries promoting standardization, scalability, and efficiency
- data modelling and data exposure to the end users
- prepare definitions for business terms, based on existing ING data catalogues including the requirements on data quality, data lineage, data privacy and data security
- create analysis deliverables such as workflow diagrams, data models and functional/technical documentation
- collaborate closely with architects to ensure new solutions are designed and implemented in alignment with the target architecture and strategic data landscape
- support DevOps engineers with functional knowhow to fix production incidents
- design and execute end-to-end functional test cases, ensuring that outputs match business requirements before go-live
- manage stakeholder expectations, support planning together with the team and take ownership of your deliverables
- show availability and willingness to help others
- proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, documentation, governance practices and team delivery effectiveness
- lead by example in navigating complex challenges, promoting analytical thinking and pragmatic problem-solving approaches
Mandatory
- ability to write and analyze medium-complexity SQL queries to extract, validate, and investigate data.
- experience working with databases and with data warehouse
- experience as technical business analysis in IT projects
- experience in creating reporting cockpits, dashboards, and visual performance indicators using data analytics and visualization tools to support business monitoring and decision-making. as a nice to have
- experience with requirements gathering and writing technical and functional specifications
- experience with banking products, processes, and services
- excellent English communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Nice to have
- experience with Agile methodologies
- experience working with cloud-based data platforms and technologies in a data management or analytics context
Education
master or bachelor’s degree (IT, Engineering, Mathematics or Economics/Business)
