As a Software Engineering Manager within PNC's Data & Automation organization, you will be based in Strongsville, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Birmingham, AL or Denver, CO.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 15 technology professionals, consisting of both full-time employees and contractors. • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Conduct performance management activities, career development planning, coaching, and succession planning. • Partner with recruiting and vendor management teams to attract, onboard, and retain top talent. • Establish clear goals, priorities, and expectations aligned with organizational objectives. Delivery & Execution • Manage the end-to-end delivery of Change the Bank initiatives across data, analytics, and automation platforms. • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and cross-functional technology teams to define and execute project roadmaps. • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with quality and regulatory requirements. • Drive Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the team. • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle. Technical Leadership • Provide technical oversight and strategic direction for enterprise data integration, data management, and automation solutions. • Guide solution design, architecture reviews, and technology modernization efforts. • Support the development and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable platforms that process large volumes of enterprise data. • Promote engineering best practices including code quality, testing, automation, observability, and operational excellence. Technology Environment The team leverages a broad range of technologies, including: • Informatica • Teradata • Linux • Mainframe technologies • Hadoop • Apache Spark • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP experience preferred)

Qualifications

• Experience managing mixed teams of employees and contractors.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, ETL processes, data warehousing, and enterprise data platforms.
• Hands‑on experience or leadership oversight involving Informatica, Teradata, Linux, Mainframe, Hadoop, Spark, and Cloud technologies.
• Experience delivering large‑scale enterprise technology projects in a regulated environment.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and information security principles.
• Experience leading cloud migration or modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience supporting enterprise‑scale data and analytics platforms.

Job Description

• Manages development projects, development teams and application support functions.
• Oversees multiple application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of application programs.
• Monitors and maintains adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis.
• Maximizes staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs.
• Analyzes applications to ensure that all systems that are developed, meet business needs and specifications.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $100,100.00 – $204,490.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
