Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C., Seoul Branch (GSKO) is a full-plate licensed broker-dealer in Korea and engages in investment banking and sales and trading business in Korea.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Vice President in the Korea Legal team, you will be expected to be proactive in guiding the business on both transactional and regulatory matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive legal advice and support on the firm's Korea franchise broadly, covering both inbound and outbound transactions and business developments, working closely with regional/global product coverage legal teams.
- Handling day-to-day legal and regulatory queries, reviewing commercial contracts, and advising on legal, regulatory and operational matters.
- Advising on local regulatory matters impacting the Korea franchise, monitoring regulatory developments, and driving local implementation of compliance and risk management standards.
- Managing and advising on dispute, litigation, and regulatory investigation situations in coordination with the regional/global legal teams.
- Managing and overseeing corporate governance processes for the firm's local entities, and handling the legal and operational aspects of the Board of Directors and its related committees
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Qualification:
Qualified to practice law in Korea or major foreign jurisdictions.
Experience:
4 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) or above.
Relevant experience within a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel at a reputable global financial institution.
Skills & Competencies:
An ability to demonstrate a strong grounding in securities law and regulation.
Working knowledge of regulatory developments impacting Korean capital market.
Strong legal analytical skills with a proven ability to conduct independent legal research and deliver clear, actionable legal advice.
Teamwork skills with a track record of working effectively across different divisions/teams
Communication and interpersonal skills, with complete professional fluency in both Korean and English (written and spoken).
