Background/Organizational Context

The Governance Global Department, within the World Bank Group's Prosperity Vice-Presidency (Prosperity VPU), is responsible for issues related to public financial and investment management, procurement, standards and codes around transparent financial management in public and private sectors, corporate governance, state-owned enterprises, corporate financial reporting, fiduciary assurance, and governance in sectors. The Department also leads the global engagement program on addressing cross-cutting challenges such as climate change, gender equality, and digitalization for which fiscal policies and PFM systems are an important component of the appropriate policy response. The Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) Program is housed within the WKPGF unit within the Global Governance Department. PEFA is a multi-donor trust fund program that provides a globally recognized diagnostic framework for assessing and monitoring Public Financial Management (PFM) systems, supporting client countries in strengthening PFM performance and using evidence-based analysis to inform reform planning, implementation, and monitoring. PEFA provides grants for technical assistance, analytical work, and knowledge products across three work stream areas:

To support the operational needs of the PEFA Program, the Fiduciary Systems (Public Financial Management) Global Unit seeks an intern to provide support on communication, knowledge and data management. .
