Lead Business Analyst – VP role in Pune, leading strategy, requirements, and digital transformation across Barclays.
Manage stakeholder relationships, drive innovation, and lead cross‑functional analytics teams on major projects.
Purpose of the role
To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
- Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
- Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
- Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
- Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
- Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

To be successful Lead Business Analyst you should have experience with:
- Extensive Business Analysis experience within Banking, Financial Services, or Technology organizations.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Expertise in requirements management, process modelling, and stakeholder management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong workshop facilitation and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional global teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and complex delivery environments.
- Lead requirements gathering workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, non-functional, and regulatory requirements.
- Create and maintain BRDs, user stories, process maps, data mappings, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability from business objectives to delivered solutions.
- Translate strategic objectives into epics, features, and user stories.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Testers to refine backlog items.
- Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, UAT, and release activities.
- Ensure requirements meet Definition of Ready and Definition of Done standards.
- Engage senior stakeholders across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Change teams.
- Facilitate decision-making workshops and drive consensus on complex topics.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate delivery progress and risks effectively.
- Embed risk, compliance, and control requirements into delivery by design.
- Support audit readiness through clear documentation and traceability.
- Ensure solutions align to regulatory and governance standards.
- Lead and mentor Business Analysts across programs.
- Establish analysis standards, best practices, and quality controls.
- Influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes.
- Foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Knowledge of Lending, Wealth Management, Payments, Regulatory Change, Risk, or Financial Markets domains.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, SQL, Data Analysis, and Reporting tools.
- Experience of digital transformation and large-scale change programs.
- Design Thinking and Business Process Re‑engineering experience.
