About the Project
The Eastern Busway is a significant project that is about more than just better transport. It will increase access to jobs and education, connect people to social and community opportunities, attract investment and growth, enable urban development, and help reduce emissions.
Its efficient services will give nearby communities some great options for cycling, walking or using the bus, and it will be a vital part of the public transport network in Tāmaki Makaurau for decades to come.

About the Opportunity
As Risk Lead, you'll develop and lead the risk strategy for the Eastern Busway Alliance, to the satisfaction of the Alliance Board. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you'll build a robust risk framework, drive risk identification and assessment across the project, and manage reporting to the Alliance Leadership Team and Auckland Transport. You'll work closely with the Commercial Manager, Construction Zone Managers and Design Team Leaders to keep risk visible and owned across every workstream.
Key Accountabilities
- Build and lead the risk framework and strategy
- Drive risk identification and assessment across workstreams
- Keep the risk register accurate and current
- Report risk and opportunity status to ALT and IPAB
- Run regular risk reviews with each workstream
- Manage the VBM process for the alliance
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and the Risk Advisor
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proven experience leading risk on major projects
- Engineering or construction management degree, or equivalent delivery experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills; risk software experience an advantage
- Sharp attention to detail and organisational skills
