Associate Vice President - Treasury Services role in Kuala Lumpur.
Lead treasury operations, manage IDL, cash functions, mentor team.
Job Summary
Your role involves driving and implementing the operating model in Malaysia while providing team mentorship and oversight to ensure the successful delivery of daily forecasting, intraday liquidity (IDL) management at central banks, and cash management functions. This responsibility requires close collaboration with funding and trading desks within Treasury and FX, along with regular coordination with multiple teams across the bank.
Key Responsibilities
- • Team mentorship / oversight to ensure the successful delivery of day-to-day forecasting, intraday liquidity (IDL) and cash management functions.
- • Calculation and provision of funding forecasts to Treasury Markets and FX desks in line with agreed cutoffs on an intraday basis. Provision of root cause evaluation on key funding drivers and forecast swings.
- • Intraday liquidity monitoring and management of the firm’s central bank accounts
- • Proactive management of payment scheduling systems to ensure the firm’s throughput requirements as well as time critical payments are met
- • Drive strategies linked to forecasting and IDL related optimization
- • Connect with global transformational programs to ensure seamless operations
- • Partner with the TS MT to further enhance and build on the teams Target Operating Model.
- • Be a key business partner and support contact to Treasury Markets to ensure effective real time funding and liquidity management strategy
- • Oversee cash management processes to manage IDL and funding
- • Oversee real time forecasting and IDL related KRIs / dashboards for close monitoring and escalation on an intraday basis,
- • Provision of Nostro MI in terms of next day balance reporting / explanations, monthly cost management , balance trends / root causes
- • Always ensure 100% compliance to the group’s risk management framework as applicable
Our Ideal Candidate
Experience:
- • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in any Banking operations
- • Minimum 2 years’ experience of funding and liquidity management
- • Prior experience in business facing support functions - particularly Treasury and/or FX
- • Prior people manager experience
- • Prior experience in building out teams, operating models and supporting strategic change / delivery
- • Prior experience in Payments, Settlements / Confirmations (Securities, FX, Rates and so on) is useful
Skills:
- Good verbal & written English communication
- Excellent assessing capabilities
- Proficient in PC skills, particularly MS Office
- Good people mentorship skills.
- Prioritization and Delegation of activities
- Problem solving / Trouble shooting skills
- Ability to identify, mitigate and eliminate risks in processes.
- Expert knowledge of forecasting, IDL and cash management functions and processes (funding driver and variance explains, payment scheduling/throughput, cash sweeps)
- Ample knowledge of Central Bank, Nostros, Vostros
- Good knowledge in IDL and related areas - systems and processes linked to IDL management and optimization, peak usage, stress metrics and associated HQLA buffers
- Good knowledge in front to back flows, particularly related to payments and settlements across asset classes is useful
- Good knowledge of MT / ISO payment and statement related messages (PACS, CAMT, MT9x, MT5x)
