Summary:

Leading technical contributor to the enhancement and maintenance of one or more Charles River IMS modules or components of an agile scrum team. Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River.

Responsibilities:

Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation

Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems

Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues

Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java and being open to learn and utilize needed languages

Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews

Provide troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations

Engage in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

Plan and coordinate cross-team activities groups to complete assignments

Demonstrate more independence of design and development

Mentor and guide Junior Engineers

Lead a team of engineers both from technical and managerial perspective

Recommended Education:

B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred.

What we are looking for:

At least 10 years of experience with full lifecycle of project development for Java applications from similar industry

Expert level proficiency in Java or C#/.NET, object-oriented design

Strong experience with high-throughput low-latency systems

Deep understanding of Database internals and data model design

Proven experience designing and building cloud-native systems that are observable, scalable, and resilient

Familiar with event-drive architecture

Strong understanding of financial system characteristics regarding transaction integrity, data consistency and reconciliation, auditability, and traceability

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Experience in Agile and SDLC development methodologies

At least 2 years of experience leading a team of 6 -10 people (this includes managing employee through whole life cycle from hiring to offboarding)

Nice To have:

Experience in ETL tools (Kettle or Talend) Development

Financial industry knowledge

Minimum Salary:

zł282  Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
