Job Summary
The Container Platforms team, which encompasses the following functions, is a pivotal part of delivering on the Technology strategy for the Bank, which comprises: Kubernetes Container Platforms Openshift Container Platforms
Key Responsibilities
This is a role focus on Kubernetes platform engineering and devops. The candidate should be able to help to build and maintain a Kubernetes platform widely used across the bank. Solid understanding of K8s architecture and how K8s works essentially in kernel/user space. Understanding of OCI, CRI, CNI, CSI, how core components are orchestrated in K8s cluster. This includes but not limit to etcd, kubelet, kube-proxy, kubeapiserver, kube-scheduler, containerd, runc. Cluster life cycle management: Provision, Backup, Restore, Upgrade, Scale, Delete. RBAC design in multi-tenancy cluster. Multiple ways of cluster authentication. Basic k8s development patterns. Operator, CRD+Controller. Understanding of cluster networking / overlay network. How c2c, p2p, p2s, e2i traffic is routed. Familiar with one or two CNI implementations (Flannel,Calico, Antrea, Weave, Cilium). Should be able to design network policies to fulfil zero-trust principal. Hands on experience on container security. Familiar with CIS/FIPS/NIST benchmarks. Decent footprints of pod/container security context config. Be able to design solutions to make the cluster compliant. Encryption at transit/rest solution design in cluster. Hands on experience on cluster monitoring/alerting/logging capabilities. Bash, Golang programming skills.
Nice to have
Cloud experience on AWS/GCP/Azure Azure Dev Ops/CICD. Terraform. GitOps 1 Python Helm/Kustomize OCP administration experience

Responsible for supervising SRE team
Risk Management
Identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks of the OpenShift/Kubernetes Containers, as well as understand the main risks facing the team and promote risk awareness. Adhere to common practices to mitigate risk in their respective domain.
Governance
Ensure all artefacts and assurance deliverables are as per the required standards and policies (e.g., Standard Chartered Bank Governance Standards, Enterprise System/software Delivery Lifecycle, etc.). Understand and comply with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, and regulations, including those governing anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions; the Group’s policies and procedures; and the Group Code of Conduct. Effectively and collaboratively identify, elevate, mitigate, and resolve risk and compliance matters. Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations among employee’s form part of the culture.

Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Qualifications
10+ Years of experience in Information Technology Must have hands on experience in production support using one or more containers orchestration platform such as Kubernetes, Openshift or Docker. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) qualification would be advantageous Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration would be advantageous Amazon Web Services and Azure certifications would be advantageous Licences and Certifications/Accreditations – ITIL v3 Foundation or similar certifications or training would be advantageous Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: IT related tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
