Director, Trade Product Manager – lead HK Trade & Working Capital strategy, driving product innovation and P&L ownership.

Job Summary
The role is responsible for driving the Hong Kong Trade and Working Capital product strategy and end-to-end execution, partnering closely with Sales and the Country Trade Product Head to build differentiated client value propositions, deliver product enhancements and digitalisation initiatives, and ensure scalable performance. This includes ownership of the country product P&L across pricing, cost budgets, assets and contingents, as well as leading commercialisation plans, training and deal support to grow revenue and utilisation. The role also ensures robust risk management and governance by identifying and mitigating operational, credit, regulatory and conduct risks, improving service standards, and maintaining required country addendums and controls across key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Sales to understand client needs and develop compelling value propositions for Corporate and Institutional clients.
Align country product initiatives with the overall Transaction Banking strategy.
Own the Trade and Working Capital P&L for the assigned products, including pricing, cost budgets, and management of assets and contingent book.
Set up and maintain market‑competitive standard pricing for Trade products, balancing profitability and client needs.
Work with the Country TB and Trade Product Head to manage and maintain country product frameworks (e.g. Country Addenda).
Drive end‑to‑end product performance, including: Revenue growth and utilization, Expense and capital efficiency, Digital adoption and straight‑through processing, Scalability and operating leverage
Develop, drive and execute product enhancements, new products/variations and trade digitalisation initiatives for the assigned products.
Lead ideation and commercialisation of new product capabilities and oversee product‑specific processes end‑to‑end.
Understand customer and prospect needs and structure appropriate Trade solutions to meet those needs.
Continuously improve product‑related processes to enhance client experience and support revenue growth, in line with the Product Governance Framework.
Ensure all assigned product initiatives and projects are delivered within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ relevant banking experience, preferably in the corporate banking segment.
Proven experience in trade product development and management.
Strong credit knowledge, including country risk and corporate risk considerations.
Experience in business case preparation and financial analysis.
Good understanding of banking systems, processes and operations.
Sound knowledge of banking products, practices and relevant regulations.
Solid Documentary Trade product knowledge, including: Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees / Standby Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections
Strong understanding of international rules governing Documentary Trade, such as: UCP 600, URDG 758, ISP 98, URC 522
Professional qualifications such as CDCS, CSDG, CSCF, CITF are an advantage.
Experience in managing digital transformation or trade digitisation projects is a plus.
