Lead Backend Developer at RBC in Putrajaya overseeing a .NET team and modernizing applications.
Full‑time, salaried role with a July 31 deadline; focus on C#, ASP.NET Core, DevOps, and scalable services.
What you will do:
Manage a team of developers, overseeing workload distribution, career development and team performance to meet business SLAs
Create robust, reusable software that can be depended on by other teams and customers
Assess, research and analyze business and system needs, exploring alternative options to recommend technology solutions and designs that meet sponsor needs while considering component re‑usability, data sharing, end user experience, performance and security
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive project progress and benefits
Create prototypes that can be rapidly shared with clients or consumers
Design & implement common patterns, services, components and frameworks
Leverage best-practices in continuous build, integration and delivery to improve quality and velocity
Manage and drive application change and modernization
Must have:
Strong programming experience in multi-tier applications based on Microsoft .NET technology stack including C#, ASP.NET Core MVC/Web API, Entity Framework Core, SignalR, Webforms, Web Services, REST API’s, Asynchronous Programming
Experience with relational database programming (e.g. SQL Server, Sybase), NoSQL databases and data stores
Experience with .NET based server-side technologies and creating/consuming from a REST backend to create responsive client-server web applications
Strong experience working within and managing professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes and testing in an agile environment
Self-motivated – driven to get results, takes initiative and needs minimum oversight.
Nice-to-have :
Experience containerizing and deploying applications with Docker/Kubernetes
Experience building DevOps pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, etc) and observing good DevSecOps practices
Experience with middleware, queues and streaming technologies like MQ, Kafka, etc
Experience with AI tools for development (e.g. Co-pilot)
Capital Markets experience is a strong plus
