The Director, Health Product & Proposition will enable and uplift Local Business Unit (LBU) capabilities in product and proposition development, supporting markets to deliver high-quality, customer-relevant health solutions.
The role will focus on translating Group strategy and proven product concepts into scalable frameworks and practical guidance, helping LBUs accelerate development cycles and improve outcomes across:
- Target segment identification
- Product design and positioning
- Commercial performance
The role holder will act as a strategic and technical partner to markets, supporting the delivery of priority products and enabling rapid “lift and shift” of successful product propositions across markets.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Proposition Enablement
Partner with LBUs on a per-product basis, supporting the development of priority products to ensure strong fit-for-purpose design and customer relevance
Provide hands‑on guidance to markets on:
- Target segment identification and alignment
- Product design, structuring and positioning
- Value proposition clarity and differentiationytrdgrtty6t5
Support markets in refining existing products to better meet intended audience customer segment needs across different market contexts
Capability Uplift Across Markets
Build LBU capability in end-to-end product development and proposition design, improving speed, quality, and consistency
Develop and embed:
- Product development frameworks
- Playbooks and toolkits
- Best practices across the product lifecycle
- Sales enablement for new products
Coach and support local teams to strengthen:
- Product thinking
- Customer-centric design
- Commercial discipline
- Active portfolio management
Scaling & “Lift-and-Shift” of Winning Propositions
Identify high-performing product concepts and propositions across markets
Enable rapid adaptation and scaling of proven products across geographies
Ensure efficient replication while maintaining relevance to local customer needs
Shorten time-to-market by leveraging existing successful designs and learnings
Product & Proposition Strategy Translation
Translate Group Health product and proposition strategy into practical guidance and frameworks for LBUs
Support markets in aligning their product pipelines with Group priorities
Provide insights and feedback loops from markets to inform continuous refinement of strategy
Portfolio Performance Support (Advisory)
Support LBUs in improving product performance through:
- Performance insights (e.g. growth, loss ratios, customer outcomes)
- Identification of optimisation opportunities
Act as a thought partner to markets in strengthening product competitiveness
Qualifications & Experience
12–15+ years in health / insurance product, proposition, or portfolio strategy
Proven experience in multi‑market or group roles
Strong track record in product innovation, portfolio management, and commercial delivery
Deep understanding of:
- Health insurance products
- Pricing and underwriting dynamics
- Customer and ecosystem-led propositions
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
