Job Purpose
The IFRS 17 Finance team performs a wide range of essential activities to support financial reporting under the IFRS 17 standard, including:
- preparing and analysing insurance contract results in line with IFRS 17 requirements;
- supporting financial reporting for both Local and Group stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards;
- contributing to data validation, reconciliation, and reporting processes across finance systems, ensuring data integrity and supporting SOX compliance and financial audit requirements;
- providing insights into financial performance and key drivers to support business decision-making;
- as well as participating in ongoing system enhancements and process improvements related to IFRS 17.
This internship will provide valuable hands‑on experience across one or more of the areas above, supporting the Finance team in delivering high‑quality reporting and insights. It offers an excellent opportunity for candidates to build practical knowledge in insurance accounting under IFRS 17 and gain exposure to real business operations within Prudential.
Job Responsibilities
Understand IFRS17-related processes and controls; support in preparing and collecting supporting documents
Assist Finance Senior Specialist/Finance Manager in preparing financial reports in compliance with Group instructions and IFRS17 requirements
Support providing balance/disclosure check, validation check, data reconciliation among source systems ensures accuracy and completeness;
Support the preparation and update of Process & Control Documentation in line with regional guidelines and local practices
Prepare materials for key updates to process owners
Support alignment of regional changes and audit recommendations with local process documents
Support SOX and financial audit activities by coordinating the collection of supporting documents from relevant process owners and consolidating materials in a timely manner
Support tracking and follow‑up of audit queries, observations, and action items.
Dashboard Development (Expense Dashboard)
- Design and develop new Expense Dashboard in Power BI / Excel
- Transform complex data into clear, actionable insights (charts, KPIs, drill‑down views)
- Support building dashboards aligned with business needs:
- Expense by nature / type / drivers
- Expense trend & variance analysis
- Propose improvements to dashboard structure, data flow, and reporting efficiency
- Support documentation of dashboard logic and data definitions
- Handle other tasks assigned by Finance Senior Specialist/Finance Manager
Job Requirements
Qualifications
A good university degree in Accounting, Audit, Finance or Data Analytics
Interest in financial data analysis and business reporting
Knowledge and skill set
Fresh graduate or final‑year student
Good command of written and spoken English
Good analytical and reporting skills
Fast learner, proactive, and willing to take ownership
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query is a plus) and Word; Power BI / data visualization tools; Basic knowledge of SQL is preferred
