We are looking for an Operational Risk Assistant Manager to join our team in Mexico City. This role is critical to strengthening our operational risk framework, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding a strong risk culture across the organization. You will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and monitoring operational risks, while partnering with multiple stakeholders locally and across international teams (US & Brazil).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and enhancement of operational risk frameworks aligned with global standards
- Identify, assess, and monitor operational risk exposures across business areas
- Ensure effectiveness of internal controls and follow up on remediation actions
- Prepare and present risk reports and committee materials (internal and regulatory)
- Analyze corporate policies and local regulations to define risk management guidelines
- Manage and support initiatives related to fraud risk and third-party risk management (TPRM)
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to integrate risk practices into daily operations
- Escalate key risks and issues appropriately and provide recommendations
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in Operational Risk (1st or 2nd line of defense)
- Background in Administration, Accounting or related fields
- Experience in regulatory compliance or risk frameworks implementation
- Advanced level of English (required)
Skills & Competencies
Required:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information
- Understanding of Mexican regulatory environment
- Solid Excel skills (reporting & data analysis)
- Structured, organized, and detail-oriented
- Assertive communication and stakeholder management
Nice to have:
- Experience in Fraud Risk or Third-Party Risk Management
- PowerPoint skills for executive presentations
