The Paralegal will work in the Litigation, Arbitration, and Employment (LAE) practice group based in our Miami office to provide support to lawyers during the entire litigation process from the initial information-gathering stage through discovery and trial, and ending with careful archival of case material. Subject to the supervision of the lawyer(s) responsible for the matter, daily responsibilities include maintaining correspondence and discovery; supporting hearings, trials, and administrative proceedings, cite checking briefs, and assisting with settlements. The paralegal will play a significant role in the retrieval, review, and production of documents, both incoming and outgoing. In addition, this role will provide support for all trials and/or arbitrations, working in conjunction with IT and Advanced Client Data Solutions to ensure all security requirements are followed and best practices are consistently applied. This role has a billing requirement of 1,650 hours per evaluation year.

REQUIRED SKILLS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

At least two (2) to four (4) years of litigation experience in a law firm or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Working knowledge of litigation support data applications and databases, preferably in a law firm or corporate law department setting.

Experience with electronic discovery support, including coordination of vendor and data management for both in-house and web-based database platforms from data collection through data production, is a plus.

Paralegal certificate desirable.

HOURS

Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Willingness to work overtime, including nights and weekends as needed.
