Position Description

***Multiple Positions Available***

Builds and develops web applications, using Java, Lambdas, streams and functional interfaces, and Spring modules. Decouples components and layers in the system, using Inversion of Control (IoC). Implements user interfaces, using Model-View-Controller (Rest). Leverages REST concepts and develops REST APIs, using Spring Boot with Tomcat. Completes high-volume data processing, using BATCH. Monitors OAuth 2 and security. Participates in peer project reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Ensures design meets performance, security, usability, and reliability and scalability requirements. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Java-based Web applications and microservices in a financial services environment, using Spring Boot.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Java-based Web applications and microservices in a financial services environment, using Spring Boot.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) architecting and developing high-performance, scalable, and resilient Web applications and microservices, using Java, Spring Boot, and advanced functional programming constructs (Lambdas and Streams); designing modular architectures, using Spring modules -- IoC, Model-View-Controller (REST), Spring Security, and Spring OAuth2; and building robust RESTful APIs, developing middle-tier action classes, and implementing fault-tolerant, concurrent batch processes, using Spring Batch and JPA for hybrid batch and event-based paradigms.

DE participating in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) within an Agile/Scrum environment; analyzing requirements, developing full-stack stories across tiers (data, application, and User Interface (UI)), and expressing requirements in automation-capable tests, using Test-Driven Development (TDD) techniques with JUnit and Mockito; and maintaining Agile workflows using Jira and Jira Align.

DE deploying and maintaining hybrid Cloud-native applications on Azure and on-premise platforms; implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, using Jenkins and uDeploy; maintaining source code using Git and Maven, and containerizing applications using Docker and Kubernetes; and implementing scalable messaging management (using Azure Service Bus and ActiveMQ), log aggregation (using Splunk), and monitoring performance (using AppDynamics and Dynatrace).

DE implementing scalable solutions and driving iterative planning, using scaled Agile methodologies; scheduling batch processes to ensure operational excellence and delivery of enterprise-grade applications, using Cron jobs and Python scripts; and designing enterprise-grade OAuth 2.0 authentication systems, maintaining relational and NoSQL databases, and optimizing data-intensive applications, using Apache Kafka.
