Principal Software Engineer, UX – Asset Management Technology Foundations

The Role

We are seeking a Principal Engineer specializing in UX Design Systems to lead the architecture, quality, and adoption of enterprise design system. This is a senior hands‑on technical role with a strong UX bar. You will be responsible for translating user experience principles into scalable, reusable, and accessible design system assets—including design tokens, component libraries (e.g., PrimeNG-based), theming frameworks, and UX standards. You will work at the intersection of UX design and engineering, ensuring that the design system is both user-centered and production-ready, enabling teams to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences across a complex application ecosystem.

The Team

Architecture and Technology Foundation (ATF) team is a central team within Asset Management that provides ready-to-use solutions composed of standard technology stacks, development frameworks, reusable software components and services. As a member of the team, you will work on Integrated Experience Platform capabilities - web and desktop experience platforms, design systems, shared component libraries and core UI frameworks that power applications across Asset Management.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model

Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $107,000-216,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
