Purpose of the role

To support the development of audits aligned to the bank’s standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.

Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.

Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.

Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.

Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.

They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions.

Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.

Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.

Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.

Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.

Step into the role as a Internal Audit – Vice President, where you will be ensuring that the bank’s risk and controls are properly managed in line with the firm’s policy and local regulatory requirements. You’ll work as Audit Lead, collaborate with our Audit Owners in teams across the regions to ensure a timely and efficient delivery. You will proactively support the Audit Directors or Country Head of Audits in regulatory submissions and engagement activities.

Your technical knowledge of Markets, Investment Banking businesses and experience in leading audits/driving initiatives in a relevant field will be vital in thriving in this role. Holding a professional qualification in Accounting or Audit (e.g. CIA, CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
