The Opportunity
This role sits within the Commercial Auto Price Modeling team , which focuses on delivering value through developing/modeling large-scale projects and monitoring existing production models. The goal is to maintain and strengthen profitable growth within our commercial auto lines of business.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain pricing models, incorporating new technologies to improve efficiency and predictiveness.
- Leverage the latest methodologies to ensure that our models are actuarially sound and align with data science best practices.
- Support data science initiatives and provide recommendations to ensure our models maintain their effectiveness, while providing insight into their predictive power.
- Monitor the effectiveness of data science models in production, prepare presentations to communicate insights on current and future portfolios.
- Monitor performance metrics and proactively identify gaps and opportunities, recommending actions for improvement.
- Promote risk mitigation and contribute to a risk-aware culture; maintain clear documentation of processes, decisions, and methodologies.
What you’ll bring:
- 1+ years of P&C experience.
- 2+ years’ experience coding in Python (numpy, pandas, sci-kit learn, GAM, XGBoost).
- Experience working with, or a strong understanding of, pricing models.
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- A commitment to staying current with industry developments and emerging trends, with a strong willingness to learn.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to work independently.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate and present ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What makes you stand out:
Progress toward ACAS or FCAS designation.
What you’ll get:
The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
