BAIN CAPITAL CREDIT AND SPECIAL SITUATIONS OVERVIEW

Bain Capital Credit & Special Situations are independently managed affiliates of Bain Capital, with a collective $55 billion in assets under management.  We invest across the full spectrum of credit strategies, including leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, distressed debt, direct lending, structured products, non-performing loans, and equities.  Through our numerous funds, we have the ability to invest in every level of a company’s capital structure from secured debt to equity, and we can also provide capital to growing companies with unique financing needs.

Our investment process is characterized by detailed business and financial analysis and a culture of vigorous debate.  We combine a consulting-based approach to industry, competitor, and business analysis with an in-depth examination of a target company’s financial performance and capital structure.  Our goal is to select the best industries, the best companies, and the best relative value among the many securities each company offers. Bain Capital Credit has a world-class team of investment professionals with extensive experience analyzing and managing high-yield investments.

CENTRAL DATA GOVERNANCE TEAM – MANAGER

The successful candidate will join Bain Capital’s Central Data Governance Team as a Manager and report to the Credit & Special Situations Data Governance Team Lead. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, adoption, and maintenance of a spectrum of data governance capabilities and solutions. These capabilities include but are not limited to data process redesign/modernization projects, data issue management, data quality management, data catalog management, data health KPI’s and metrics reporting, and visualization tool and AI-enablement. This role will work very closely with a variety of functions such as Investment and Trade Operations, Finance, Data Analytics & Reporting, Portfolio Management, Investor Relations and Information Technology. This is an exciting and impactful opportunity to lead and drive transformational changes for the Credit and Special Situations businesses.

Key responsibilities are to:

The primary measures of success in this role are:

Mitigation of data errors in reporting to investors and in internal portfolio analytics/models and management reporting

Data and process flow redesign and automation

Improved data quality and transparency

Enablement of automated reporting via flexible visualization tools and approved AI tools

Integration of AI tools into processes and using AI tools to gain tangible efficiencies

Key elements to success in this role are:

Leadership and ability to be a change agent; can-do attitude

In-depth understanding of underlying data, systems and root cause analysis

Ability to map out, document, and rationalize processes

Experience / background specific to Private Credit and Equity with heavy exposure to data management and systems in either Finance, Operations or Data Governance capacity
