Job Purpose

Act as Enterprise Resiliency Officer with primary responsibility for the Business Continuity Management Program to focus on collaborating with AIG Business Units in the implementation of robust resiliency plans. Such plans will be required to anticipate, address and to mitigate the effects of various business interruptions within APAC region by:

Conducting business impact analysis on business processes

Business continuity/ disaster recovery planning and carrying out testing exercises,

Monitoring major incidents/ events and activating incident management strategies

Adopting and using enterprise resiliency tools and

Fostering awareness of business continuity management and disaster recovery in the organization

Job Responsibilities

Collaborates with Country BC Leads to implement various enterprise-wide business continuity/ resiliency related programs and priorities that are governed by the AIG Enterprise Resiliency Policy and Standards.

Collaborates with Country BC Leads in performing risk assessment, planning and implementing recovery strategies recover business critical business processes/functions and applications.

Collaborates with country business continuity coordinators (BCCs)/ and the disaster recovery team to ensure plans are updated and reviewed. 

To learn and to be well versed with using related the AIG resiliency tools required for the programme and implementation support. To be the local subject matter expert for the business units.

Participates with business units on various types of physical and tabletop exercise such as business continuity test, call tree test and disaster recovery testing.

Familiarize with new Enterprise Resiliency Policies and Standards to be implemented

Collaborates with business units to actively monitor any major events that disrupts business and threaten life safety. This includes natural disasters, security and technology related incidents. Management and monitoring of incidents/ events that may occur outside of office hours.

Keep in touch with BCCs on priorities and information sharing by having regular meetings.

Attends meetings outside of normal hours as and when required due to time zone differences.

Supports the APAC Regional Head as required

Engagement on audit and regulatory examinations where required

Required Skills and Experiences

Educational Qualification

Primary or Secondary degree in a related technical discipline, e.g. Computer Science

DRII CBCP or similar certification is preferred

ITIL, PMP or similar certification will be added advantage

Specific Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of experience in Business Continuity Management, preferably with Disaster Recovery Experience

Minimum of 1 year project management experience in global organizations

Ability to relate and work with people in different culture and background

Good in communicating and presenting

Prior experience in an international or regional environment preferable

Working knowledge of General Insurance or Financial Services preferable

Total Experience

Good oral and written communication skills in English

Has good time management and ability to multitask different priorities

Involvement in implementing Business Continuity Management related programs

Exposed and experienced in managing actual BC events or incidents

Must be able to work independently, make decisions where appropriate and provide suggestions or solutions

Proficient in using Excel and Powerpoint in daily work

Ability to perform data analysis using tools such as Excel Power Query or Power BI will be added advantage
