Job Overview
The Data Analytics Sr Grp Manager manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an intergral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.
Responsibilities
- Manages risk by using established technology delivery management and control processes to address execution challenges associated with quality, schedule, and cost.
- Implements delivery and technology management approach for projects and associated plans to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.
- Owns financial responsibility for Data and Analytics standard platforms and resources.
- Serves as subject matter expert to team members on escalated issues, guiding them in the development and delivery of their work product.
- Manages team to interpret business requirements into technology specifications, ensures platform stability, data quality, and client support.
- Acquires and apply advanced knowledge of the business, products and processes to ensure data quality and business delivery.
- Partners to drive adoption of new selected technologies into standard support models and systems.
- Directs LOB technology lead managers to ensure effective project execution, risk and issue identification, management, and escalation.
- Manages and delivers all aspects of analytics grid and integration with new Big Data capabilities including introduction and training on newest capabilities and services.
- Provides rapid response resources to deliver business augmentation and data support (including data movement services).
- Synthesize analyses, identifies root causes, and develops plans for remediation of issues pertaining to Data and Analytics.
- Facilitates development of project plans related to schedule, budget, scope, and resources while monitoring project execution to deliver incremental business value.
- Provides client support for all platforms including Analytical and Warehousing technologies.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications
10+ years managerial experience
Degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or related work experience
15+ years experience managing technology projects and resources, relevant business support and/or general analysis experience
Education
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

Has direct interaction with business heads, technology leads, and Governance leads to understand their long term vision, discuss industry trends, and incorporate them into the product & solutions strategy
Focuses on controls and governance, including performing Need-to-Know based security and access reviews, Access Approvals, controls testing and documentation
Understand All Markets products data flows within CITI
Data analysis for All Markets Products across systems for target state adoption and resolution of data gaps/issues
Lead assessment of end-to-end data flows for all data elements used in Regulatory Reports Document current and target states data mapping and produce gap assessment
Coordinate with the business for identifying critical data elements, defining standards and quality expectations, and prioritize remediation of data issues
Identify appropriate strategic source for critical data elements
Design and Implement data governance controls including data quality rules and data reconciliation
Design systematic solution for elimination of manual processes/adjustments and remediation of tactical solutions
Prepare detailed requirement specifications containing calculations, data transformations and aggregation logic
Manage data solutions within markets data domain
Lead strategic migration initiatives
