Position Overview

Job Title: SAP CML Test Engineer Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President Location: Pune, India Role Description As an SAP CML Test Engineer, you will be a crucial member of our cross-functional team, ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of our core Lending applications. You will leverage your expertise in both mortgages business processes and SAP CML to design, execute, and document comprehensive testing strategies. You will collaborate closely with Requirements Engineers, Developers and Application Managers in both Pune and Frankfurt to verify and secure the technology solutions that support Deutsche Bank's lending operations. The Lending Platforms team is a global unit responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Deutsche Bank's core lending systems. As a critical function within our Private Bank Technology division, we manage the lifecycle of loan products on the SAP CML (Consumer and Mortgage Loans) platform. Our team is strategically located in Frankfurt and Pune, fostering a collaborative, multinational environment to deliver robust and innovative solutions for our business partners.

Role Description

As an SAP CML Test Engineer, you will be a crucial member of our cross-functional team, ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of our core Lending applications. You will leverage your expertise in both mortgages business processes and SAP CML to design, execute, and document comprehensive testing strategies. You will collaborate closely with Requirements Engineers, Developers and Application Managers in both Pune and Frankfurt to verify and secure the technology solutions that support Deutsche Bank's lending operations.

As a critical function within our Private Bank Technology division, we manage the lifecycle of loan products on the SAP CML (Consumer and Mortgage Loans) platform. Your key responsibilities

Test Strategy and Planning: Deliver a strong contribution with the test team, which will develop, document, and maintain functional and non-functional test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications.
Test Execution: Execute manual and automated tests for SAP CML and integrated systems, covering all phases of testing including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Regression Testing.
Defect Management: Identify, log, and track defects with precision. Collaborate with development teams to analyze root causes and ensure timely resolution and re-testing.
Domain Expertise: Apply your in-depth knowledge of the mortgages business lifecycle (origination, servicing, closure) to create/manage realistic and effective test scenarios.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work in close partnership with a multi-national team of Requirements Engineers, Developers and Application Managers across Pune and Frankfurt to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and quality standards.
Reporting and Documentation: Contribute to providing clear, concise, and timely reporting on test progress, defect status, and overall quality to project stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive test documentation.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes, methodologies, and tools.

Your skills and experience

SAP CML Expertise: Proven, hands‑on experience in testing SAP Consumer and Mortgage Loans (CML) module. Strong understanding of CML configuration, processes, and integration points.
Testing Proficiency: Minimum of 2+ years in a dedicated software testing role with a strong grasp of QA methodologies, tools, and processes (STLC, SDLC).
Mortgages Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of the end‑to‑end mortgage lending business process, from application and underwriting to servicing and securitization.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed, multi-national team environment across different time zones.
Analytical Mindset: Analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Advantageous / Nice to Have

Test Management Tools: Familiarity with test management tools, particularly Tricentis Test , for planning and tracking test execution.
Test Automation Tools: Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks, especially Tricentis Tosca , for creating and maintaining automated test suites.
Certifications: ISTQB/ISEB or other relevant software testing certifications.
Agile Experience: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Broader SAP Knowledge: Experience with other SAP Banking Services modules (e.g., SAP BP, BCA) or FI/CO is a plus.
German language skills: would be regarded as a plus point.
