THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is looking for a Manager of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Advisory based out of Boadilla, Spain .

As a Vice President in the SCIB FCC Advisory function, you will provide financial crime compliance advisory support across SCIB products, jurisdictions, and business activities. You will review client relationships, transactional activity, and business initiatives to identify and assess financial crime risks and provide risk-based recommendations to support informed business decisions.

Working closely with Front Office, Operations, and Compliance partners, you will support transaction execution, client onboarding, and ongoing client activity by applying Group Financial Crime Policy and Guides to complex scenarios. You will also contribute to the ongoing enhancement and effectiveness of the SCIB FCC control framework and governance processes.

Professional Experience

Proven self-starter with the ability to lead and independently execute the development of FCC capabilities, while fostering strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration. (Required)

Proven experience conducting FCC advisory reviews of client relationships, transactions, and business activities within Corporate and Investment Banking environments.

Experience providing risk-based recommendations on client onboarding, transactional activity, sanctions risks, and other financial crime matters.

Demonstrated understanding of transaction flows and associated financial crime risks across Trade Finance, Payments, Correspondent Banking, Markets, and Capital Markets products.

Strong understanding of the CIB business products and services including Markets, Trade Finance and Capital Markets solutions (Required)

Have an in-depth understanding of Payments, Trade and Correspondent Banking. (Required)

Must have business transactional knowledge and FCC control expertise (Required)

Proven record of working within a large multi-national bank with Global and regional exposure in a similar role (Required)

Strong understanding of Reg and FinTech initiatives and developments (Preferred)

Education

Degree level education (Required)

Industry relevant qualification in Risk or Compliance (Preferred)

Languages

Fluent English (written and verbal) (Required)

Fluent Spanish (written and verbal) (Required)

Hard Skills

Strong technical FCC expertise (Required)

Use of FC control tools (e.g. Dow Jones, Oracle, Fenergo) (Required)

Ability to use analytics capability to deploy screening, monitoring and other technology solutions (Required)

MS Office (Required)

AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot) (Required)

Soft Skills

Excellent time management and ability to work to business timelines (Required)

Senior and executive level communication skills (written and verbal) (Required)

Capability to deal with multiple requests of varying natures while still addressing the overall strategy (Required)
