Reviewing and assessing insurance applications to determine appropriate coverage and premium rates based on medical and lifestyle information
Collaborating with medical professionals to obtain and interpret relevant health data
Analyzing risk factors and making underwriting decisions in alignment with company policies and industry regulations
Providing guidance and recommendations to customers and colleagues on underwriting matters
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of underwriting decisions and activities
Continuously developing your knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in medical underwriting
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in medical underwriting or a related field within the insurance industry
Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and the application of medical and lifestyle information
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data and industry knowledge
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders
Proficiency in using relevant underwriting software and tools
Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, trends, and best practices
