Role Description
The 1st line TDI Risk and Controls function at Deutsche sits within the Technology, Data & Innovation (TDI) for Deutsche Bank Group. As part of the team, you will join the Bank’s journey and contribute towards our strategic goal of data driven proactive risk management as well as activities that improve our technology resilience and risk reduction. TDI Risk and Controls is seeking a highly analytical and experienced problem solver who can move seamlessly from data preparation to advanced analytics and executive-level storytelling. This role partners with cross-functional teams including Product, Professional Services, Finance, Operations, and Technology to solve complex business problems and deliver measurable value from data. This role will report to the Global Head of TDI Risk and Controls - Data, Analytics and AI and ultimately to the Global Head of TDI Risk and Controls.
The successful candidate will be: Highly analytical and detail oriented. Comfortable working with ambiguity and open-ended business questions. Effective in both hands-on technical work and stakeholder engagement. Curious, pragmatic, and focused on delivering measurable business impact. Able to balance rigor, speed, and execution in a dynamic environment.

Your key responsibilities
Reporting
Strategy and Delivery Design and develop reporting solutions aligned to business strategy and committee requirements. Build and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business stakeholders. Manage end-to-end reporting processes, including data collection, quality checks, report generation, review, and distribution. Ensure reporting outputs are timely, accurate, and fit for purpose. Maintain reporting documentation and improve processes to support operational excellence.
Data Acquisition, Preparation, and Management
Clean, validate, and structure large, complex datasets from various internal sources. Build and maintain scalable data preparation and ETL workflows for analysis and reporting. Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements to governance and controls. Automate routine and ad hoc processes across desktop and cloud-based environments. Ensure appropriate access controls and data protection measures are in place.
Analytics and Decision Support
Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to support business decision-making. Lead analytical initiatives and support junior team members where needed. Use tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Pandas, VBA, and Excel Macros to perform efficient analysis. Support AI enablement and automation initiatives through prompt design, AI tooling integration, and experimentation.
Visualization and Executive Communication
Create clear dashboards, reports, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership. Translate complex analysis into business-relevant insights and decision-ready narratives. Provide end-user support and training on reporting solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with senior management and stakeholders to gather and define business requirements. Partner across Finance, Operations, Product, Professional Services, and Technology to deliver data-driven solutions. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product managers to embed solutions into business processes. Build strong stakeholder relationships, manage expectations, and escalate delivery risks when needed.
Support, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement
Troubleshoot issues related to dashboards, reports, and reporting pipelines. Perform ongoing maintenance to ensure reporting reliability and usability. Stay current on analytics, BI, AI, and data science trends and recommend improvements to tools and processes.
Your skills and experience
Desired Education and Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience delivering analytical and reporting solutions for business teams. Strong experience in business intelligence, dashboard development, and analytics.
Technical Skills Advanced experience with SQL, Python Pandas, Snowflake, Excel VBA Macros, or similar tools. Strong Tableau experience, with 5+ years in reporting and visualization. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or similar tools is desirable. Knowledge of ETL tools such as Alteryx, Pentaho, or Informatica. Experience building data solutions on cloud technologies such as Snowflake is a plus. Ability to support data contract creation and develop authoritative datasets.
Professional Skills Strong communication skills with the ability to explain analytical findings to non-technical audiences. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence decisions through data-driven insights. Strong problem-solving, organization, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with global teams is desirable. Desire to learn about new and emerging technologies and continuous upskilling. Must be comfortable with navigating ambiguity to extract meaningful risk insights.
