Oracle Database Engineer (f/m/x) – Platform Management
Job ID: R0437675 Full/Part-Time: Full-time Regular/Temporary: Regular Listed: 2026-05-26 Location: Frankfurt Position Overview *German version below*
About the role We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer (f/m/x) to join the Platform Management function and play a key role in improving operational governance, platform reliability, and database service management across the enterprise. This role is designed as a hybrid technical and platform management position, with an approximate 60:40 focus in favour of platform management and governance activities, while retaining hands‑on Oracle engineering responsibilities where deep technical expertise is required. The successful candidate will act as a technical authority within the platform team, helping shape standards, improve governance processes, enhance operational maturity, and support strategic database platform initiatives. The role requires a strong Oracle engineering background combined with the ability to influence process improvement, service management, compliance, and operational best practice. This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys moving beyond pure operational support into a broader platform leadership and governance‑focused role.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead and enhance database governance processes, ensuring compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards
- Define and maintain operational standards, policies, and procedures for Oracle database platforms
- Drive service improvement and optimise ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, release, capacity management)
- Ensure stable platform operations through collaboration with infrastructure and service management teams
- Develop and monitor KPIs, reporting, and metrics to track service performance and governance effectiveness
- Contribute to platform strategy, including roadmap planning, standardisation, automation, and cloud/hybrid initiatives
- Act as a key interface between engineering, platform management, security, and delivery teams, including mentoring and audit support
- Provide advanced Oracle DBA support (installation, configuration, HA/DR, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation)
Your skills and experiences
- Extensive experience as an Oracle Database Engineer/DBA in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in Oracle technologies (12c/19c/23ai, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN)
- Solid knowledge of platform governance, operational standards, and compliance controls
- Good understanding of ITIL-based processes (incident, problem, change management)
- Proven experience in database performance tuning and optimisation
- Ability to drive service improvements and translate technical issues into governance enhancements
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical teams
- Experience with modern environments, including cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps/SRE practices
Please send the CV in English. Thank you.
