Team/ Division Overview
Team/ Division Overview The Client Coverage Division (CCD) is the core client-facing coverage function that markets DWS’ global investment capabilities across Active, Passive and Alternatives to institutional end investors as well as distributors/intermediaries. The CCD Hong Kong & China team covers a broad range of client types in the Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Chinese Mainland, including sovereign entities, central bank institutions, insurance companies, asset managers, pension providers, corporates as well as intermediaries such as private banks and securities companies. The team has members based in Hong Kong SAR and Beijing.
Role Details
- Partner with the client coverage team in Hong Kong SAR to help identifying business opportunities with eligible institutional investors in the Chinese Mainland
- Further drive DWS’ market share in China via strategic account planning, initiatives development and partnership opportunities
- Showcase entrepreneurship with a deep understanding of the unique requirements of Chinese institutional investors including investment needs, regulatory constraints and operational requirement
- Partner with relevant internal stakeholders to help DWS further improving its capabilities, infrastructure and processes required for successfully servicing Chinese clients
- Gain a deep understanding of DWS’ global investment capabilities across Active, Passive and Alternatives
- Foster a strong, collaborative culture across all functions to build the necessary working relationships and to the degree that is commensurate with the business area to ensure effective end-to-end client and product delivery
- Cross border communication and build productive working relationships with all other departments and co-work with team members to achieve the team sales goal
- Conversant relevant legal, regulatory and group policy requirements and operate accordingly
We are looking for Master’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience Have at least 5 years’ track record experience with substantial experience in the asset management industry in China and existing relationships with eligible Chinese institutional investors such as QDIIs (especially insurance companies and asset managers) and sovereign entities Deep understanding of the unique requirements of Chinese investors including investment needs, regulatory constraints and operational requirements Regional mobility with willingness to relocate to Hong Kong SAR depending on future business needs Commercial mindset and the ability to further drive our China business growth Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, ability to manage priorities and work in demanding fast-paced environment Results-oriented self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as a team member, coupled with the enthusiasm to deliver world-leading solutions for our clients Ability to build strong relationships with a range of teams and individuals and influence outcomes Solution driven and used initiative to propose new, practical strategies/solutions Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English & Mandarin
