Clearing and Settlement Analyst, AS Job ID: Full/Part-Time: Full-time Regular/Temporary: Regular Listed: 2026-02-11 Location: Jaipur Job Title: Clearing and Settlement Analyst, AS Location: Jaipur, India Role Description Stock Loan Operations (SBL) is responsible for managing the daily stock borrow and loan lifecycle across global markets to support Equity Finance, Prime Brokerage, and Settlements functions. The process covers borrowing/returning securities, handling locates, settlement exceptions, collateral movements , and ensuring timely delivery of securities to avoid fails, penalties, or regulatory breaches. This role involves exception handling with counterparties, custodians, and internal trading desks , ensuring timely settlement of SBL trades, resolving stock shortages, tracking corporate actions, processing collateral (cash/non-cash), and addressing open items that can impact market penalties. The team is also responsible for fail management , inventory optimization , trade matching , rate updates , and daily reconciliation with internal books and external parties. Delays in completing these activities can directly result in settlement fails, buy‑ins, penalties (CSDR/market-specific), and client escalations , making the role critical within the equity finance chain.

Your key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities Work on unmatched Stock Loan/Return trades by engaging with counterparties, prime brokerage, and middle office to resolve economic/non‑economic discrepancies. Manage daily inventory shortages , locate requests, and liaise with trading desk to arrange borrow to prevent settlement fails. Track daily SBL exposure , open loans, returns, recalls, rate changes, and settlement activities across markets. Handle collateral management , including daily mark‑to‑market, margin calls, substitutions, and reconciliation of collateral balances. Perform pre‑matching and settlement of SBL trades with custodians, CCPs, and counterparties. Resolve fail‑to‑deliver (FTD) situations by arranging borrow, reallocating stock, or escalating to traders. Process manual instructions (MT540–543, loan return/borrow instructions) through internal systems when STP is not available. Clear nostro and depot breaks , raising issues to relevant teams for resolution and ensuring aging breaks are minimized. Prepare daily risk reports (SOD/EOD, exposure, MI reports) for management review. Stay updated with regulatory requirements (CSDR, SEC, SFTR) and assess their impact on daily SBL operations. Work closely with Risk, Middle Office, Front Office, and Settlements to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management. Address client/desk queries , including ad‑hoc reporting and timely resolutions to escalations. Support corporate action processing (rate changes, recalls due to corporate events, substitutions). Create & distribute daily MIS, operational metrics, and exception dashboards to onshore stakeholders.
Your skills and experience
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage exceptions proactively. Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder coordination. Team player with flexibility to work in different shifts and take on additional responsibilities. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 2–6 years of Investment Banking Operations experience , preferably in Stock Loan, Prime Finance, or Equity Settlements. Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, SBL process, equity markets, and settlement nuances (US/EU/APAC). Hands‑on experience with trade settlements, fail management, stock borrow/loan , and collateral workflows. Good knowledge of financial products : Cash Equities, Prime Brokerage products, Stock Borrow Loan settlements, and basic corporate actions. Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) ; familiarity with systems like EquiLend, SLAB, GLOSS, Broadridge , or similar is a plus. Ability to challenge the status quo and contribute to process improvements.
