Internship in Structured Trade & Export Finance – 6‑month role at Deutsche Bank, Paris.
Support front office in export credit transactions, KYC, risk and client presentations.
Position Overview
About the role Deutsche Bank is a client‑centric global universal bank. We are looking for an intern for 6 months starting 1 July 2026. The Intern will strengthen the existing DB Structured Trade and Export Finance (STEF) Paris Front Office team that is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of export credit facilities, with the support of Export Credit Agencies or private risk insurers, for the financing of the commercial contracts of Deutsche Bank’s exporting and importing clients worldwide (Corporates and Sovereigns). The main mission will be to assist and provide support to the Front Office team in their day‑to‑day tasks.
Responsibilities
- Support the team in its general origination activities as well as with the execution and management of export credit transactions.
- Preparation of presentations for client meetings and post meeting call reports, preparation of commercial offers, including mandate letters, terms sheets, pitch books and information memorandums.
- Ensure completion of all preliminary transaction procedures including credit, KYC, environmental & social, anti‑financial crime, reputational risk due diligence, calculation of transaction profitability metrics (KPIs) and preparation of credit memos.
- Support in the legal documentation negotiation process by liaising with external legal counsel and syndicate banking partners as well as ensuring proper information sharing and handover with middle & back‑office teams and other support functions.
- Coordinating with the Middle Office teams for the management of the portfolio in relation to loan utilizations, overseeing borrower compliance with reporting & financial covenants and internal reporting.
Skills
- Must be eligible to work in France with a valid convention de stage.
- Fluent verbal and written communication capabilities in French and English is mandatory.
- Spanish is a plus.
- Self‑starting, autonomous and willing to take initiatives.
- Good team spirit, analysis and synthesis capacities and rigor.
- Strong interest and knowledge in financial product and industry.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Previous internship(s) in Structured Finance, corporate banking products group or corporate coverage is a plus.
